Membership Categories |
Professional -- PTR Professional has successfully completed all five
sections (written, skills, teaching, drills and error detection)
of PTR's certification test with a grade of Professional
on all sections, has an NTRP rating of 4.5 or higher (ITN
– 4), is 21 years of age or older and has three years
full-time teaching or five years of part-time experience.

Instructor -- The Instructor has successfully completed all five sections
of PTR's certification test with a grade of Instructor or
higher on each of the sections, has an NTRP rating of 4.0
or higher (ITN– 5), is 18 years of age or older and
has one year of full-time or three years part-time teaching
experience.

Associate
Instructor -- The Associate Instructor has successfully completed all
five sections of PTR's certification test with a grade of
Associate Instructor or higher on each of the sections,
has NTRP rating of 4.0 or higher (ITN – 5) and is
16 years of age or older.

Non-Tested
Member -- When a prospective member applies for a full membership
with PTR, they are considered Non-Tested until they complete
the full certification exam. A non-tested member receives
full membership benefits, for up to a year, while preparing
|
Tester -- PTR Testers are available to
administer PTR certification tests for new members or members
wishing to upgrade their rating. Testers are PTR members
who meet eligibility criteria and requirements established
by the Board of Directors.

International
Master Professional -- The International Master Professional distinction has
been bestowed on only 12
members during the PTR's existence. These people have
made an internationally recognized contribution to tennis
|
Master
Professional -- The Master Professional designation recognizes those
individuals who have made significant contributions to the
game of tennis throughout their careers. The Master Professional
distinction has been awarded to only 27
members. Only PTR members who have been members for
9+ years or more and are certified at the Professional level
for at least five consecutive years are eligible. Click here for more information.

Honorary
Member -- PTR recognizes Honorary Members for their contribution
to the sport of a lifetime. Prospective members can be suggested
to the Board by contacting PTR International Headquarters.

Affiliate
Member -- Affiliate membership is for those
who are active in the tennis industry, but who do not wish
to become certified teachers. It allows enthusiasts the
opportunity to stay involved and current in the tennis teaching
industry without certification.

Senior
Affiliate Member -- For certified members
over 65 years of age, senior status provides all benefits
of the affiliate membership at a special discount price.
|
Corporate
Partner -- The Corporate Partnership is available to any tennis-related
company. It is designed to allow the company to market special
products, services or programs to PTR members by way of
special advertising rates, direct mail programs and exhibit
booths.
|
Merit Achievement Program -- MAP ratings allow PTR members to supplement their current
rating with 1A, 2A, 3A 4A and 5A levels of professional
development. Members who have raised their standard through
workshops, courses, conferences, degree programs or other
educational activities will be recognized for their dedication
