Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) has three (3) basic certifications to fit the needs of tennis teaching professionals worldwide:
Junior Development (10 and under tennis), Performance and Adult Development. In addition, PTR has a Master of Tennis Program in these three areas for teaching professionals who want to further their education.
Due to time and expense, there is no tennis teaching certification that encompasses all three areas in one. Prior to this year, certification was based on teaching adults. PTR is the only tennis teaching certification organization that offers targeted education and certification in Junior Development, Performance and Adult Development. You have the special opportunity to become educated and certified in one, two or three specific areas. Which route you choose usually depends on what area you prefer, have expertise in and/or whom you are primarily coaching.
In July 2011, the PTR Master of Tennis – Performance received accreditation from NCACE – the National Council on Accreditation of Coaching Education, (a division of APHERD).
