Associate Instructor - The Associate Instructor has successfully completed all sections of PTR's certification test with a grade of Associate Instructor or higher on each of the sections, has NTRP rating of 4.0 or higher (ITN – 6) and is 16 years of age or older.

Instructor - The Instructor has successfully completed all sections of PTR's certification test with a grade of Instructor or higher on each of the sections, has an NTRP rating of at least 4.0 or higher (ITN – 6), is 18 years of age or older and has one year of full-time or three years part-time teaching experience.

Professional - PTR Professional has successfully completed all sections of PTR's certification test with a grade of Professional on all sections, has an NTRP rating of at least 4.5 or higher (ITN – 5), is 21 years of age or older and has three years full-time teaching or five years of part-time experience.

Master of Tennis – PTR Professional has successfully completed the Master of Tennis program in one or more of the following areas (Junior Development, Adult Development or Performance)
