Bill Tym is has been involved in tennis for more than a half century and has been successful as a player and coach. As a player he was a SEC Champion at the University of Florida before playing the world circuit from 1965-70, during which time he won 10 National/International Championships. As a coach, Bill has enjoyed success in developing champions at the junior, interscholastic, intercollegiate, and professional levels of play.  Some of his former teams have won the National Interscholastic Championships and the AIAW National (Women’s) Championships.  He has been the recipient of numerous awards including the USTA Educational Merit Award and most recently was honored as the 2007 Grand Inductee into the United States Professional Tennis Association Hall of Fame.

Ken DeHart is the Director of Tennis at San Jose Swim and Racquet Club.  Ken is a PTR Tester and Clinician as well as a USA Performance Coach, a National Trainer for Recreational Coaches and a member of the Cardio Tennis National Speakers Team.  Ken recently hosted PTR’s acclaimed DVD Drills, Skills and Games for Beginning Players

Don Henson is a PTR Clinician and Tester who is a highly rated speaker at the PTR Intl. Tennis Symposium as well as traveling around the world speaking on tennis.  Don is one of the original 18 USPTA  Master Professionals.   His students have captured many state and national titles.

NEWS

The top-seeded UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team, coached by PTR member Marty Davis, wrapped up its third consecutive championship Sunday defeating No. 3 seed Pacific by a 4-0 score.


The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team, coached by Kathy Twist, claimed its first Mid-American Conference Championship on Sunday afternoon, coming back to defeat Western Michigan, 4-3.  With the win, UB claims its first ever postseason MAC Title and a trip to the 2008 NCAA Tournament.

The Furman women’s tennis team coached by Debbie Southern,  PTR, won it’s 5th consecutive Southern Conference Title defeating Davidson 4 – 0.

John Powless, of Madison, Wisconsin, was elected to serve on the PTR Foundation Board of Directors at the Board’s Annual Meeting held during PTR Week.


Adam Jasick is the new Director of Tennis at Miller Tennis Center in Amherst, NY.
