Hilton Head Island, SC - - Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) announced its Director of Communications, Peggy Edwards, from Hilton Head Island, is set to receive the USTA South Carolina Media Award on December 8th.
The annual awards recognize individuals, clubs and other organizations that made outstanding contributions to tennis. Award winners were chosen based on their accomplishments during 2012. The Media Award is presented to an individual or company that makes an outstanding contribution to reporting or promoting tennis in South Carolina.
As Director of Communications for PTR, Edwards is the editor of TennisPro, an award winning international magazine that serves to educate tennis teachers and coaches. Her duties also include writing and disseminating information about the company and its events to the media, designing educational manuals and program books for PTR events, as well as updating and maintaining the organizations’ social media efforts.
According to the USTA South Carolina’s website, “Edwards is a huge proponent of tennis and the benefit of her work for tennis is incalculable.”
USTA South Carolina is a state branch of the United States Tennis Association.
PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 14,000 members in 117 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization. PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
