Certification Rating Levels |
Non-Tested
Member -- When a prospective member applies for a full membership
with PTR, they are considered Non-Tested until he/she completes
the full certification exam. A non-tested member receives
full membership benefits, for up to a year, while preparing
for the certification test.

Associate
Instructor -- The Associate Instructor has successfully completed all
five sections of PTR's certification test with a grade of
Associate Instructor or higher on each of the sections,
has NTRP rating of 4.0 or higher (ITN – 5) and is
16 years of age or older.

Instructor -- The Instructor has successfully completed all five sections
of PTR's certification test with a grade of Instructor or
higher on each of the sections, has an NTRP rating of 4.0
or higher (ITN – 5), is 18 years of age or older and
has one year of full-time or three years part-time teaching
experience .

Professional -- PTR Professional has successfully completed all five
sections (written, skills, teaching, drills and error detection)
of PTR's certification test with a grade of Professional
on all sections, has an NTRP rating of 4.5 or higher (ITN
– 4), is 21 years of age or older and has three years
full-time teaching or five years of part-time experience
.

Master
Professional -- The Master Professional designation recognizes those
individuals who have made significant contributions to the
game of tennis throughout their careers. The Master Professional
distinction has been awarded to only 27
members. Only PTR members who have been members for
10 years or more and are certified at the Professional level
for at least five consecutive years are eligible. Click
