Hilton Head Island, SC - - Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) presented its annual awards last week during the PTR International Tennis Symposium. The event was held on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Carol MacLennan, of Haddonfield, New Jersey, has been named PTR Member of the Year for the State. This award is presented to a member who has shown dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting tennis and PTR.
MacLennan is the Director of Tennis at Laurel Creek Country Club in Mt. Laurel, NJ. During the indoor season, she is a staff pro at Cherry Hill Health & Racquet Club. In addition to coaching, MacLennan is a USTA Tournament Director and Junior Team Tennis Coordinator. She serves as the tournament organizer for the USTA National Father and Son Indoor Championships held at Cherry Hill.
MacLennan has been a member of PTR since 1997, and is a certified Professional in Adult Development, 10 and Under and 11 to 17 Junior Development. She is a PTR Clinician for Junior Development workshops, and is currently enrolled in the Master of Tennis program.
In 2000, MacLennan was awarded the USTA Middle States New Jersey District Tennis Professional of the Year and in 2018, she was recognized as the USTA Middle States Tournament Director of the Year. She is currently serving on the USTA National Sportsmanship Committee.
PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 16,000 members in 131 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization. PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and serving tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
